One Team, One Dream

We are proud to report that GANF pupils qualified for the National Table Cricket Finals at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. This was a culmination of four months of regional competitions that decided which schools qualified for Finals Day.

MCC, ECB and Lord’s Taverners then hosted a Disability Cricket Day on Wednesday 25th June 2025. Set to be the biggest ever one-off showcase of disability cricket, the event brought together 12 top schools from across England, Scotland, and Wales, making it a truly national celebration of inclusive sport.

The day also saw England Men’s Mixed Disability team playing the third game of a seven-match Mixed Disability Vitality IT20 series against India.

Table cricket is an adapted form of cricket played on a table tennis table and is aimed at young people with a wide range of learning and physical disabilities.

Competing with passion, focus, and fantastic teamwork, the GANF team secured an impressive 5th place overall.

The pupils represented GANF with pride, showing not only their cricketing skills but also their sportsmanship and determination.

The children were able to meet some cricketing royalty, David Gower and Mike Gatting, and the current England fast bowler, Reece Topley, was also in attendance. Marcus Buckland (Sky Sports and BBC Sports) commentated on the games.

Nicola Hudson, PE Teacher at GANF, said: “A huge thank you to our amazing pupils for showing what GANF is all about: Be safe, be kind and always try your best.

I am super proud of all of them!

We made GANF history today and hope to return next year under our new name – Newton Bridge Academy. Who knows, we might even win it!”
